Now, we’ve talked about using video content on social media, but what about your website?
Well, as you may well know, using videos in your website can help improve visitor retention, meaning your website users will more than likely hang around for a bit longer if they have something to engage with, like a useful video.
Time spent on your site is important, but is it possible to use video to turn cold traffic into leads?
VidYard recently carried out a simple A/B split test for one of their product pages, here’s what they found:
A product page with a video enjoyed a 2.79 percent conversion rate, compared to a page they tested without a video, which only had 0.47 percent conversion rate.
That’s a whopping 492% increase on just one single product!
We’ll talk more about conversions in just a second, but additionally, there are some much-valued benefits of using video content on your website.
What is the value of video marketing without conversions? Pretty much nothing, right?
Fortunately, however, video content converts like nobody’s business.

Did you know that when it comes to online product reviews, 79% of consumers prefer to watch a video as opposed to reading a text-based review?
That’s because video reviews is a lot more intimate and personal than regular text-based reviews.
When we’re doing our research to buy anything online, we can’t have the goods in our hands to try out first, sadly. It’s not like going into a physical store. So, the next best thing is to see the products in a demonstration or explainer video online.
