Stop Fixing Things That Are Not Broken! Really, Stop It!

Last Updated on November 25, 2021 by Fabrizio Van Marciano

And instead, focus on building new things –

It’s so easy to get caught up in the vicious circle of always finding something to fix on your blog, even if it’s not broken.

Bloggers do this all the time. I used to do it, all the time.

In fact, there was a time when I was changing and tweaking my blog theme every few months.

I would also chop and change plugins like they were going out of fashion.

I would unveil a new logo design for my blog every six months!

I know, sad, right?

We’ve all done needless things like this. We’ve all tried to fix something that was never broken in the first place.

If you are finding yourself, forever tweaking every part of your blog, from the design, layout, to the content. Stop! it

What you’re actually doing is procrastinating.

So what should you be doing instead?

You should be building new things to support the growth of your blog!

If not, then there has to be something really important you should be doing, like planning the next three months worth of content for your blog.

Or, finishing off that eBook that you’ve been working on for the last 12 months.

Or, finally making a start on that online course you’ve been thinking about creating.

I know, I know. It’s a lot more fun creating a new logo for your blog than working on important things, that are not so fun to do.

It should be fun. If it’s not fun for you, then you’re in the wrong business. Perhaps blogging isn’t for you.

Seriously now… Unless something is truly broken, stop doing all of the dumb things that won’t help your blog to grow and prosper!

Do the things that matter the most:

  1. Build new foundations for your blog to grow
  2. Plan the next 3, 6, or 12 months of content for your blog… (Use this to help you)
  3. Create exceptional quality content (Here’s how)
  4. Grow your awesome email list (Here’s how)
  5. Create an amazing product to sell online, whether it’s an eBook, course, whatever… (Here’s how)
  6. Make new connections and nurture the relationship you have with your readers (Here’s how)

Now, stop tweaking and start building…
