When it comes to creating passive income with affiliate marketing, there are a gazillion companies and organizations out there all offering their own unique affiliate program. In his post, we’re going to look at 8 of the best SEO affiliate programs for bloggers! Let’s dive right in.
Before we get started, if you’re looking for a comprehensive list of affiliate programs for bloggers, do check out this post I wrote a while back. I’ve recently updated it so it should offer a few more options.
OK, let’s talk about SEO affiliate programs. What are they?
Well, if you’re new to affiliate marketing, let me explain. Affiliate marketing is simply a method of earning income by promoting another company’s products and services online or offline.
An affiliate program is a system in which an agreement is made between a company and an individual, such as a blogger, influencer, or affiliate marketer.
The company will usually offer some kind of commission incentive to the individual if he or she can drive traffic that converts into sales for the company. There are some rules involved as to what you can and can’t do too.
Commission-wise, this can vary, but many companies offer generous commissions. Some offer up to 70%, although, none of the companies in the list below offers as much as that!
These can be very rewarding because, in the world of online business, everyone needs to use SEO tools to a degree. Whether you’re a blogger or small startup looking to improve your content and get better rankings, there’s an SEO tool for almost every objective.
Now, some SEO companies will offer rewards upwards of 70% commission on sales of their products or services. In addition, if the company has a recurring billing system for their customers, you can earn recurring commissions from every paying customer, every month or year, as long as they remain a customer.
This is difficult to answer because affiliate marketing is not exactly technically challenging. I mean, you’re not trying to build a space rocket to send people to Mars with it.
That being said, to be successful at making money from promoting any affiliate product takes a lot of work up-front. It’s not hard work, but it can get very tedious at the best of times, and you have to have patience too.
I’ll go through some steps for promoting your SEO affiliate products for maximum exposure and increasing your revenue-earning potential later on in this post.
OK, enough small talk. Let’s now dive into the 8 best SEO affiliate programs to earn extra passive income from your blog.
Here is a list of the company’s SEO affiliate programs we’re going to be looking at. Click on the direct link to each website/company if you wish to learn more –
OK, let’s dive into each one below.
SEMRush is a software company that provides a suite of SEO growth and digital marketing tools for bloggers and marketers. They don’t just specialize in SEO, they offer the complete marketing package from SEO, content marketing, social media marketing, competitor research and analysis, and more.
Their affiliate program can be very rewarding if you’re willing to put in the work. SEMRush offers everyone the opportunity to earn recurring passive income with up to $200 commission for every new subscription sale, $10 for every new trial, and even $0.01 for new signups.
Nice, right?
I’m sure by now you’ve heard all the hype that Rank Math has been creating lately. Rank Math is a powerful WordPress SEO plugin that’s super lightweight, feature-packed, and easy to use.
There is a free and paid version of this plugin. It’s now my favorite SEO plugin, and I use it across all of my WordPress websites.
Anyone can signup for an affiliate program with Rank Math, you don’t have to be a user of the plugin. However, that’s not the strategy I would recommend implementing.
You have to at least be familiar with Rank Math before promoting it successfully, like any other product out there. At least, that’s my advice.
Commission-wise, Rank Math will pay you 30% from each verified sale. The minimum amount for payout is $200. You can check out my full review of Rank Math here.
Long Tail Pro is a powerful SEO research and analysis tool for bloggers and marketers. It’s been around for a while so it’s a well-established bit of kit.
I myself have used LTP countless times for finding profitable keywords for niche website projects, as well as blog posts topic ideas.
The Long Tail Pro affiliate program is a fairly simple one to use. Again, it’s a good idea to know the product first before you sign up for the program and start promoting it.
With over 70K marketers using this tool, Long Tail Pro offers a 30% commission on every sale. The great thing is you not only get the first sale but recurring commissions as well, as long as the member stays a paying subscriber of LTP.
There are several ways to signup. If you’re a user of ShareASale, like myself, you can signup through the network. Otherwise, you can also signup via Post Affiliate Pro and Commission Junction.
Mangools has been creating SEO tools since 2014. They have a suite of powerful search engine optimization tools for businesses and bloggers alike.
They’re nowhere near as comprehensive as SEMRush, however, they are a lot more affordable.
Their affiliate program is very rewarding too. Affiliates can earn lifetime commissions of 30%. The average monthly payout to affiliates is around $480. Payment is made monthly via PayPal, as long as the threshold of $150 has been met.
KWFinder is a product of Mangools. This is a great tool for finding profitable long-tail keywords with low SEO difficulty. So if you’re a blogger looking to write content for SEO and traffic, this could be the tool for you.
The KWFinder affiliate structure is the same as Mangools, 30% commission for life. You actually sign up via the Mangools page.
So, as you can see, you have a few options above. Here are a few more that you might want to check out –
I recommend that you sign up for each one and see how much you can earn. But, before you do, please take some time to read the next part of this post below.
Signing up for any SEO affiliate program is the easy part. The hard part is to actually make money from them.
It all depends on how much time you’re willing to invest in marketing and promotion. Don’t worry if you don’t have any or limited online marketing skills, you can learn as you go along. Anyhow, here are some tips and ideas to get you started.
Now, let’s dive a little deeper.
Over the last ten years, I’ve reviewed dozens of products related to WordPress, hosting, and blogging. On almost every single occasion, I have used the product in my business. If I haven’t used it, usually I’ve taken it for a thorough test drive.
I’ve always believed that in order to write an honest review of anything, you have to at least try the product. Having some knowledge of the product is just not good enough in my opinion.
There are far too many reviews out there that are simply written for SEO and to earn a quick buck.
But how can you tell the difference between an honest review and a fake review?
It’s easy:
An honest review will contain everything including the kitchen sink! In other words, it will be a full-blown, detailed, and in-depth article complete with screen captures, videos, stats, and more.
A fake review is usually a 400-word blog post with copy, including the product image, ripped off the product’s main sales landing page. Oh, and there’s always a massive BUY NOW button somewhere at the top.
Sadly, these fake reviews still manage to make it on page one of the search engine search result pages sometimes.
If you’d like some examples of how a review should be written and organized, here are some on my blog to check out –
I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “honesty pays”, right? Well, in affiliate marketing this couldn’t be more accurate.
Your SEO product review should be detailed, accurate, resourceful, and honest to the bone. Think of all the questions a reader/customer would ask about the product and try to answer them all in your review.
Don’t forget to explain why YOU use the product in your business too, assuming you do. After all, readers come to your blog to read about your experience and views!
Whatever you do, don’t just write one big block of text either. Make your review interesting with screenshots, maybe even include a video or a podcast.
You don’t just have to write a review. You can also create a list post of the best SEO tools for bloggers and marketers and publish it on your blog.
Check out this post I wrote for tips on how to write product reviews that convert!
Being an SEO affiliate marketer doesn’t just mean marketing and promoting the product to the masses. Tutorials are vital!
In fact, I believe tutorial articles are a lot more valuable than product reviews. Sure, most folks looking for tutorials may already have the product, but there will be folks that want to ensure the product they want to invest in is easy to use first.
Over on my YouTube channel, I create a lot of tutorials on WordPress website design using plugins and themes. Some of the comments left on my videos are from folks who needed a little more convincing to purchase the product first. They often ask me: How easy is it to use the product?
Talking of videos… By far, the most effective way to increase your income with SEO affiliate programs is to create tutorial videos. Often known as explainer videos.
You can then post these videos on your social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube! Here’s the best bit, you can embed your video tutorials everywhere, from your blog posts to online forums, if allowed.
Here’s an interesting stat that you may have seen already online –
86% of consumers in the US say that watching social media videos influence their buying decision – Source.
I know what you’re thinking – Videos are too time-consuming to create or you don’t feel comfortable doing them.
I get it, but, if you really want to increase your affiliate earning potential then you have to consider creating some videos. There’s no point crying about it.
My last quick tip for you is to add the SEO product to your list of most trusted products page. This is usually called a tools and resources page, like this one.
If you haven’t created one for your blog yet, here is a tutorial for you.
OK, so there you have it. Not only have I given you eight of the best SEO affiliate programs you can use to increase your affiliate revenue, but I’ve also given you some quick tips for promoting your SEO affiliate products! Enjoy.
